Orlando’s 4th of July Events & Festivals
If there’s anything Orlando knows how to do well, it’s throwing a 4th of July bash! From fireworks to live outdoor concerts, here are some of the must-see events:
If you’re looking for a classic 4th of July experience, Fireworks at the Fountain in Downtown Orlando is a must!
The event takes place at Lake Eola Park and features live music and fun activities for the whole family. Plus, the stunning fireworks show is like no other. It’s one of the best ways to soak up the city’s patriotic splendor, and with Crowne Plaza Orlando Downtown suites just around the corner, you’ll be right in the middle of all the action.
While it doesn’t actually take place on the 4th itself, Red Hot & Boom is an epic pre-Independence Day celebration you can’t miss! Just a short drive from Orlando in Altamonte Springs, this event includes live concerts in tandem with XL106.7, tasty food vendors, and an awesome fireworks show.
If you’re planning on visiting Orlando, you’ll probably find yourself at one of our many famous theme parks. Consider joining in the revelry with a high-caliber celebration at either Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, or SeaWorld.
Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom has some of the most iconic fireworks displays in the world, with lights, lasers, special effects, and your family’s most beloved Disney tunes.
On the other hand, Universal Orlando offers live music, dance parties, themed food, and parades of stilt walkers with iconic Universal characters.
If you’re looking for an ocean-themed Orlando 4th of July experience, head to SeaWorld’s Fireworks Show at the park’s central lake for one of the most dazzling displays of lights in the city.
Barbecue & Outdoor Festivals
Looking for more of a classic 4th of July experience here in Orlando? You might consider attending one of the city’s many barbecue cookouts and outdoor concerts.
For great food, head to Enzian’s BBQ Bash at the Enzian Theater for a free screening of Jaws and delicious eats, or enjoy your own food with family fun and live entertainment during the Independence Day Celebration, just a little over 20 minutes from the heart of Orlando.

Lake Eola Park is the central hub for Fireworks at the Fountain, but it’s also one of the best places in Orlando to watch fireworks on the 4th of July. This year will mark the 47th Annual Fireworks celebration. Make sure to get there early and bring a cooler so you have access to your favorite snacks and non-alcoholic beverages!
While the event itself kicks off at 4 pm, the show itself doesn’t start until 9 pm.
You can visit Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and EPCOT just about any time of year to see epic fireworks displays. However, the 4th of July weekend is a truly special time to go.
At EPCOT, the American Adventure pavilion pays tribute to American history through spectacular pyrotechnics and an unforgettable soundtrack. At the same time, the Magic Kingdom celebrations feature Disney’s signature fireworks displays with a bit of patriotic magic.
Universal Studios also offers a special Orlando 4th of July fireworks experience. With their Cinematic Celebration event, you get high-energy live music, meet-and-greets with some of your favorite Universal characters, fantastic visual displays, and, of course, a brilliant pyrotechnic display atop the lagoon to cap off the night.

Amazing staff! Excellent experience.
I recently stayed at the downtown Orlando Crowne Plaza for several nights and had a fantastic experience. I cannot stress how amazing the staff were. They were very incredibly helpful and went above and beyond all expectations. They helped out and made several suggestions about the area when I had questions. They were always more than willing to help in any way they could. I cannot say it enough how thankful I am for all of their help. Especially Leaford and Oscar. Both of them were amazing. Their help legitimately helped my trip be successful. They took so much extra time and showed genuine interest in what I was working on and the problems I was running in to. Derek was a huge help as well. I believe I was told the hotel was recently renovated. It is very nice, there was nothing I could find to complain about. I was very happy with my room. The bed was comfortable, and the A/C worked great, which is a necessity is Florida. The bathroom was great, and although I did not use the pool, it looked clean. The food was amazing! The whole hotel seemed very clean and organized. I would definitely recommend visiting this hotel is you are going to be in the Orlando area.

Crowne Plaza in Orlando Downtown was a lovely experience. The highlight of the experience for us was definitely the staff at the hotel. From the reception to the restaurant, every person had a smile on their face and was extremely friendly. The food in the restaurant is delicious, and the staff are very informative, notably Oscar and Maria in the restaurant were very pleasant and really enjoyed their job making the dining experience wonderful. The rooms are spacious and have all the basic amenities expected to have a comfortable stay. However, no free drinking water is provided in the room and needs to be purchased. Overall, this hotel is one definitely worth staying at due to the proximity to downtown Orlando, the staff, and the rooms/amenities.

Excellent concern for the customer
The service at the Hotel is excellent. Tina at the front desk was extremely helpful with an excellent attitude. Specifically, I had sprained my ankle earlier in the day and when I realized i needed to get it wrapped, she was able to conjure up some gauze wrap that worked enough to keep heat on my ankle until the morning. The Rooms are cleaned daily like Pre COVID and the food is excellent in the restaurant.

4th of July Dining & Nightlife in Orlando
Orlando has endless dining and nightlife options! Whether you’re looking for a hearty American barbecue or a scenic spot for cocktails, here are some spots we recommend checking out:
Orlando is home to several fantastic restaurants that serve classic American barbecue, some of our favorites of which include Uncle Tony’s and Jesse’s Rib Shack.
However, if you’re in the mood for something more upscale, many downtown restaurants offer special menus for Independence Day, along with great views of the fireworks, such as STK Steakhouse or The Boathouse.
If you prefer a more relaxed experience, Orlando has several rooftop bars and lounges with panoramic views of the city’s fireworks displays.
Enjoy a cocktail at AC Sky Bar while taking in the patriotic skyline, or enjoy delicious Italian American cuisine during the fireworks magic with Pinstripes.
Orlando’s brewery scene is growing, and some spots offer special 4th of July brews and cocktails. Head to a kid-friendly brewery like Park Pizza & Brewing Co. or escape the hustle and bustle of Disney World with the nearby Home State Brew.

Best Times to Visit Orlando for a Holiday
When planning Orlando holidays, one of the first things many people ask us is, “When should we go?”
Timing is important for long-term stays in Orlando, as the city has distinct seasonal highs and lows. Depending on the time of year you come, you could have a completely different experience.
Now, while we believe you can visit Florida any time of year and have a memorable vacation, it’s worth looking into the best times to visit based on the weather, crowds, and activities.
All of the businesses and theme parks are lit up with holiday decor, and temperatures are gorgeous, sitting mostly around the low 70s.
Starting in November, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Disney World is a major hit, with celebrity chef demonstrations, live music performances, and over 30 food booths with dishes from across the globe.
Once December rolls around, many tourists start flocking to theme parks. While the parks are incredible to see this time of year, you can expect larger crowds.
Top Attractions:
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom
Universal’s Holiday Parade
Holiday light displays in Downtown Orlando
Fireworks at Lake Eola on New Year’s Eve
Pros: Festive atmosphere and comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities.
Cons: Prices can be higher due to the holiday season.
We often say that the best time to visit Orlando is in the Spring. While you will see plenty of spring breakers out and about, the temperatures are great (with around eight hours of sunshine each day, and tons of exciting events and attractions.
Pros: Beautiful weather, fun festivals, and lively energy
Cons: Spring break crowds can get a bit hectic

Summer Orlando holidays are best if you don’t mind the heat and humidity and want to enjoy the city’s many water parks, including Blizzard Beach, Volcano Bay, and Typhoon Lagoon! Just expect peak seasonal crowds the moment school is out and weather that can reach around 90 degrees starting in July.
While there are often longer wait times for the city’s main attractions until August, the parks have extended hours for longer enjoyment.
Top Attractions:
Water parks like Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Universal’s Volcano Bay
Fourth of July celebrations at Walt Disney World and Downtown Orlando
Concerts and outdoor events.
Pros: Extended summer hours at the theme parks and many festivals
Cons: High temperatures, humidity, rain, and larger crowds, especially around major holidays.
Fall Holidays (Sept–Oct)
School goes back into session in September, so if you want to enjoy your Orlando holidays without the crowds, the start of Fall is the perfect time. Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of sunshine, warm weather, and events!
The Epcot Food & Wine Festival is still happening around this time, and the parks begin gearing up for Halloween.
Top Attractions:
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios
Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa & SeaWorld Orlando
SeaWorld Spooktacular
Brick or Treat LegoLand Florida
Pros: Smaller crowds, cooler weather, and Halloween festivities. Cons: Hurricane season peaks in September and October, so prepare for possible storms.
Tip: To avoid the peak tourist seasons and enjoy a more relaxed stay, consider visiting during the off-peak months or ‘shoulder seasons’ of early winter or fall.

Planning a trip to Orlando? The best time to visit can make all the difference in your experience!
The best time to visit Orlando depends on your preferences. If you want fewer crowds and lower prices, the off-season months like late spring and early fall are ideal, offering a more relaxed experience. For those who crave lively events, theme park festivals, and mild weather, winter and early spring are perfect, making it an exciting time to explore all the city’s attractions. Plus, you’ll find great deals during these months!
Keep reading to discover the best months to visit based on weather, events, and crowd sizes. For more details, check out our Orlando Travel Guide.
Orlando’s Seasons: What to Expect
While Orlando has a warm, tropical climate year-round, the weather can vary significantly depending on the season.
Winter (December – February)
Weather: Cool & dry (50-75°F).
Pros: With fewer rainstorms, low humidity, and plenty of holiday events, winter is the best time to visit Orlando for many! This is especially true if you want to avoid the heat.
Cons: Although the weather is more bearable, some days can be a bit chilly. Because people are off for the holidays around this time, you can also expect to see larger crowds with prices reflecting them.
Spring (March – May)
Weather: Warm but comfortable (60-85°F).
Pros: Many say Spring is the best season to travel to Orlando, as you’ll find pleasant weather and smaller crowds. During this time, the city’s gardens are in bloom, and there are plenty of outdoor events like the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival.
Cons: The only exceptions to the above are Spring Break (typically in March) and Easter, which often bring a surge of visitors, especially to the theme parks.
Summer (June – August)
Weather: Hot and humid (75-95°F), with daily thunderstorms.
Cons: The heat and humidity can be a lot during the summer, and temperatures often soar into the high 90s. Crowds tend to swell during this time as well, so plan accordingly and get your days started early.
Fall (September – November)
Weather: Cooling down (65-85°F), with the tail end of hurricane season.
Pros: When people ask us when to visit Orlando for theme parks, we usually say Fall. Many of the theme parks start preparing for Halloween events, like Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, and with gorgeous weather, you can enjoy more serene outdoor experiences at some of the city’s popular parks. Blue Spring State Park is an absolute must-visit.
Cons: Rainstorms are still common in September and October, so keep that in mind as you create your itinerary.

As the holiday crowds die down, January is the best time to visit Orlando for those seeking peace and quiet. Head to Disney Springs (an Orlando bachelorette party favorite) for some post-holiday shopping, or take a stroll at the locally-renowned Lake Eola Park.
The cooler temperatures in January also make it perfect for exploring Orlando’s outdoor attractions without the sweltering heat. Whether you’re enjoying a romantic boat ride on Lake Eola or checking out the beautiful gardens at Harry P. Leu Gardens, you’ll have a much more relaxed and intimate experience. Plus, the lower hotel rates make it a budget-friendly option for couples and solo travelers alike.
February is a great time for quiet and romantic Valentine’s Day getaways. If you head to the parks, make sure not to miss the Epcot International Festival of the Arts!
February’s mild weather is perfect for outdoor activities, making it ideal for a peaceful stroll through the picturesque Harry P. Leu Gardens or a relaxing boat ride at Lake Eola. With fewer crowds and romantic settings, it’s the perfect month for couples to enjoy Orlando’s best attractions without the hustle and bustle.
Note: If you’re interested in more couples activities, check out our guide to things to do in Orlando for couples and plan your romantic getaway!
At the start of Spring Break, crowds start to arrive, especially at the city’s many Mardi Gras celebrations. If you want a mellower experience in March, explore some of the less-popular attractions, such as the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
While the excitement of Spring Break ramps up, March still offers quieter moments if you know where to go. For a more laid-back experience, consider visiting the beautiful parks like Harry P. Leu Gardens or take a scenic walk around Lake Eola. You can also enjoy intimate dining at local restaurants or attend an art exhibit at the Orlando Museum of Art, away from the crowds.
In April, Orlando’s theme parks are in full swing. With comfortable weather, it’s a great time to be outside and explore. From the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival to the Busch Gardens Food & Wine Festival, it’s a stellar time of year for both families and festival-goers.
April brings a perfect blend of mild weather and vibrant events, making it an ideal time to explore Orlando. Beyond the theme parks, enjoy outdoor activities like strolling through the blooming gardens at the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival or savoring delicious offerings at the Busch Gardens Food & Wine Festival. For a quieter, more intimate experience, visit the scenic Leu Gardens or take a peaceful boat ride at Lake Eola, where spring is in full bloom.
Beyond the parks, enjoy a peaceful afternoon at the Orlando Museum of Art or unwind with a romantic dinner at one of the city’s intimate restaurants. It’s an ideal month for both adventure and relaxation.
June is when summer kicks in, and the water parks open up. While you can expect short bursts of rain throughout the month, it shouldn’t be enough to deter you from getting out and enjoying some of the best summer activities, such as the Promenade at Sunset Walk!
If you visit in June, hit the parks early, take an AC break midday, and enjoy the amenities at your extended-stay Orlando hotel!
This is the city’s busiest and hottest month, and may not be the best time to visit Orlando if you don’t like crowds. While the theme parks hit peak capacity around the July 4th holiday, you can’t beat the fireworks celebrations, especially the Fireworks at the Fountain in Downtown Orlando.
Despite the intense crowds and heat, July still offers unforgettable experiences for those willing to embrace the summer buzz. Enjoy the dazzling July 4th fireworks at Lake Eola or visit air-conditioned attractions like the Orlando Science Center. It’s also a great time to cool off at nearby water parks like Typhoon Lagoon.
While it’s still very hot and stormy in Orlando in August, by mid-month, crowd levels begin to dip. Later in the month, you can snag late-summer special offers on Downtown Orlando accommodations and find a bit more peace at the parks on weekdays.
August may be hot and rainy, but it offers a more relaxed experience as crowds start to thin. Take advantage of the quieter weekdays to explore popular attractions like Universal Studios without the usual wait times. It’s also a great time for couples to enjoy a peaceful dinner at local spots like Enzo’s on the Lake. Plus, with lower hotel rates, it’s an ideal month for budget-conscious travelers.
As a transitional month with kids back in school, tourist spots are much quieter (aside from Labor Day weekend). This is hurricane season peak, meaning the chance of rain or storms is highest now.
September offers a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere for visitors who prefer to avoid large crowds. While rainstorms may be frequent, the lower hotel rates make it an affordable time to visit. Take advantage of shorter lines at attractions like SeaWorld Orlando or explore the local art scene at the Orlando Museum of Art. Just be sure to check the weather before heading out for outdoor adventures.
With glorious weather and lots to do, many Orlando locals will tell you October is the best time to visit. Halloween events are in full swing and Come Out With Pride sweeps the city!
Early November offers a perfect blend of pleasant weather and fewer crowds, making it an ideal time for couples and families to enjoy Orlando’s outdoor attractions. As mid-November approaches, the city starts decking out in festive holiday decor, with events like the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival winding down and early holiday shopping ramping up. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience Orlando’s charm without the holiday rush, while still soaking in the seasonal magic.
If you want to find the best time to visit Orlando without breaking the bank, consider booking a long-term suite rental from September to early December and mid-January to February.
If your main goal is to conquer Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, timing can make all the difference.
Your best bet for low crowds is when most kids are in school. Historically, the least crowded months are mid-January, early May, and late September.
In terms of weather, the heat can be brutal when you’re standing in an hour-long line, which is another reason whyspring or fall is the best time to visit Orlando.
Arrive early (be at the park gates before opening – we locals call it “rope drop”) to enjoy popular rides with minimal wait. Also, take advantage of each park’s skip-the-line systems (Disney Genie+ or Universal Express Pass), especially during busier times.
Remember, if you stay downtown at Crowne Plaza, you can hop on I-4 and reach the parks early, then return to the hotel to relax when the afternoon crowds and heat peak (one of the perks of our location)!

Best Time to Visit Orlando
Orlando is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on what kind of trip you want. Whether you love lively crowds, festive events, or budget-friendly deals, each season offers something unique.
Spring & Summer (March–August) – Peak Theme Park Season
Spring and summer are the busiest times in Orlando, attracting families, thrill-seekers, and vacationers eager to experience the city’s top attractions. With temperatures often reaching the 90s, staying cool with indoor breaks and plenty of hydration is essential. If you enjoy a lively atmosphere and long daylight hours, this is an exciting time to visit.
Spring kicks off with the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, running from March to early July. The park transforms with breathtaking topiaries, interactive gardens, outdoor kitchens, and live concerts. Summer travelers can also experience Disney H2O Glow After Hours, a special nighttime event at Typhoon Lagoon featuring dance parties, glowing decor, and shorter lines for water rides.
While this season is packed with excitement, it also means larger crowds, longer wait times, and higher prices, especially in June and July. Theme parks often reach peak capacity, and hotels book up quickly. To make the most of your trip, purchase theme park tickets in advance, arrive early, and visit on weekdays for a more relaxed experience.
If you’re visiting during this high-demand season, our Orlando Florida travel guide will help you navigate the crowds, discover hidden gems, and find ways to save on your trip.
Fall (September–November) – Fewer Crowds & Festive Atmosphere
Fall is one of the best times to visit Orlando for those who prefer fewer crowds and milder weather. With kids back in school, theme parks become less crowded, making it easier to enjoy rides and attractions without long lines. Temperatures cool down, and hurricane season starts to wind down, creating a more comfortable experience for outdoor activities. This season is also packed with exciting events, from the Epcot Food & Wine Festival to the spine-chilling Halloween Horror Nights at Universal.
September tends to be the rainiest month, so it’s wise to pack a poncho, but by October and November, the weather is perfect for exploring both theme parks and Downtown Orlando.
Winter brings a festive glow to Orlando as Disney Springs and Universal CityWalk transform with holiday decorations and seasonal entertainment. December is a magical time to visit, but it’s also one of the busiest, with crowds peaking around Christmas and New Year’s. Once the holiday season ends, January and February offer a quieter, more affordable experience. The cooler temperatures make it easier to explore outdoor attractions without the summer heat, and hotel rates drop significantly, making this a great time for an extended stay. If you’re looking for a mix of holiday magic, comfortable weather, and budget-friendly deals, winter is the perfect season for your trip.
No matter when you visit, Orlando offers world-class entertainment, top-rated dining, and unforgettable experiences. Planning ahead will help you make the most of your adventure!

This hotel is one definitely worth staying at due to the proximity to downtown Orlando, the staff, and the nice rooms.

Super happy with our stay here!
We stayed a night here for a concert at Kia Center. It made for a perfect day! Check-in was easy, valet parking convenient, and room was nice. We had a great dinner and drinks on site before our concert then took the shuttle to Kia. After the show, the shuttle picked us up at the drop off spot then he took backroads to hotel to avoid traffic mess. It was 30 mins from show ending to the time we were back in our room. Highly recommend especially with Florida resident rates!!

August Weather in Orlando, Florida
Orlando in August is hot, humid, and sun-soaked, with daytime highs around 92°F (33°C) and evenings cooling to a mild 75°F (24°C). Factor in humidity, and it can feel like 100°F (38°C) by midday! But don’t worry—afternoon thunderstorms sweep in like clockwork, offering a quick, refreshing cooldown before the sun makes its comeback. Think of it as Florida’s way of keeping things exciting!
How to Prepare for the Heat
Orlando’s August heat is no joke, but with the right game plan, you’ll stay cool and comfortable all day long:
Hydrate Like a Pro – The Florida sun is relentless, so drink water regularly—even if you don’t feel thirsty. Electrolyte drinks can also help keep you energized.
Dress Smart, Stay Cool – Light, breathable fabrics (think cotton and moisture-wicking materials) are your best bet. Stick to light colors to reflect the sun instead of absorbing it.
Sunscreen Is Your Best Friend – Apply SPF 30+ before heading out, and reapply every two hours. A hat and sunglasses make a huge difference, too.
Beat the Heat at the Parks – Plan rides and outdoor activities before noon or after 4 PM. Midday? That’s your cue for an indoor show, a long lunch, or a hotel break.
Afternoon Rain? No Big Deal – Showers are fast and refreshing! A compact poncho or umbrella will keep you moving while others run for cover.”
By planning ahead and taking precautions, you can enjoy everything Orlando has to offer while staying cool, comfortable, and safe in the August heat.

My bartender, Oscar, was a wonderful man. When you stay here, please, visit Oscar. He is an engaging conversationalist, funny as the day is long, and has a huge heart. The room was nice. The valets were personable and prompt with responses. The shuttle to and from our concert was a great convenience .

Best Times to Visit Attractions to Avoid Peak Heat
Orlando’s theme parks and attractions are busiest and hottest during the afternoon, with temperatures reaching their peak between 12 PM and 4 PM. To avoid the worst of the heat and longer wait times, consider these strategies:
Arrive Early: Most parks open around 8 or 9 AM—arriving early allows you to enjoy top attractions before the crowds and heat intensify.
Take a Midday Break: Head back to your hotel for a swim, rest, or lunch during the hottest part of the day and return in the evening.
Visit Indoor Attractions: Plan visits to museums, aquariums, and indoor entertainment in the afternoon when outdoor temperatures are highest.
Utilize Extended Park Hours: Many theme parks offer late-night hours in August, allowing for cooler evening visits.
Packing Tips (Light Clothing, Rain Gear, Sun Protection)
Packing smart will ensure you stay comfortable and prepared for Orlando’s summer climate. Here’s what to bring:
Light, Breathable Clothing: Opt for moisture-wicking fabrics like cotton or linen to stay cool. Shorts, T-shirts, and comfortable walking shoes are must-haves.
Sun Protection: With strong UV rays, sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher), sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat are essential.
Rain Gear: Afternoon showers are common, so pack a light poncho or travel-size umbrella to stay dry without carrying bulky gear.
Hydration Accessories: Bring a refillable water bottle—many attractions offer free water refill stations to keep you hydrated.
Best Ways to Get Around Orlando
Orlando is a sprawling city with attractions spread across different areas, so having a transportation plan is key. Here are the best ways to navigate the city:
Rental Cars: Ideal for travelers who want flexibility, especially if visiting multiple locations beyond theme parks. Orlando International Airport (MCO) has numerous rental options.
Ride-Sharing Services:Uber and Lyft are widely available and perfect for short trips or getting to and from theme parks.
Hotel Shuttles: Many hotels, including Crowne Plaza Orlando Downtown, offer complimentary shuttles to major attractions.
Public Transportation:LYNX buses provide an affordable way to get around, and SunRail is a great option for certain areas.
Theme Park Transport: Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando offer free internal transportation, including buses, monorails, and water taxis, making it easy to hop between attractions.
By planning your days wisely, packing appropriately, and using the best transportation options, you can fully enjoy Orlando in August while staying comfortable and stress-free!

This hotel is one definitely worth staying at due to the proximity to downtown Orlando, the staff, and the nice rooms.
